Norma Kelly has more than 20 years of communications experience spanning a range of practice areas, including Interactive Entertainment, Travel/Hospitality, Consumer Lifestyle, Fashion, Consumer Tech, Performing Arts, Entertainment, Housewares and Automotive publicity. Her diverse background and ability to maintain strong media relationships allows her to deliver strategic, comprehensive programming to clients.
Kelly’s recent roster of clients include Bialetti: Italian maker of cookware and coffee products; Law Offices of Donald P. Schweitzer; Howl! Happening Gallery; Language Matters with Bob Holman documentary film; Marshal B. Ketchum University; Gotcha Covered: designer and manufacturer of bedding solutions; Levitt Pavilion Greater Los Angeles & Pasadena annual outdoor summer concerts; Shelter Partnership’s Gala Dinner; Kauffman Wealth Services; and David M. Schwarz Architects. Other projects included media relations for the Santa Monica Festival; PeopleMedia.com; ISI Translation Services, Global Leadership Adventures; Goldstar.com and MyShape.com.
As a supervisor at Bragman Nyman Cafarelli, a marketing communications firm operating within the entertainment and lifestyle/pop culture arena, Kelly led the media relations team for Sony Computer Entertainment America (Sony PlayStation 2, Sony PlayStation Portable and all first-party software titles). She established and managed public relations programs, provided strategic counsel, media relations expertise and client positioning services. Kelly also managed the b-roll crews (obtaining celebrity footage, sound bites, editing and distribution) at major A-list celebrity red-carpet events including the annual Sony PlayStation E3 party and the T-Mobile X-Games kick off party.
Prior to her work at Bragman Nyman Cafarelli, Kelly held positions with several large public relations agencies including Golin/Harris International, where she managed and implemented public relations programs for Nintendo of America.
At Manning Selvage & Lee her roster of clients included General Motors, Nike and Nestle. Specifically, Kelly managed several Hispanic community public relations initiatives for GM, including a press conference to kick off Chevrolet’s 2001 Heritage Tour; a child safety seat press conference with the National Transportation Safety Board, National Council of La Raza and National SAFE KIDS Campaign; and managed the media relations for GM’s sponsorship of the Alejandro Fernandez concert series benefiting the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Additionally, Kelly managed the publicity efforts for the GM/UAW “Team Behind The Team” Olympic hopeful car giveaway program in the Western Region of the U.S., and led the media relations efforts for GM/UAW’s role as host of several high-profile receptions during the 2000 Democratic National Convention.
Kelly also worked at Yesawich, Pepperdine and Brown in Orlando Fl., where she handled media relations for several Hispanic hospitality clients including Fiesta Americana resorts and hotels in Mexico, the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism and Temptress Adventure Cruises in Costa Rica.
A graduate of the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida, Kelly has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts with a Minor in Psychology. She is fluent in Spanish.
